HISTORY

On April 19, 2013, the Forum for Catechesis with Hispanics was approved by the NCCL Board to become the first federation in NCCL. Becoming a federation has been a great accomplishment with many opportunities for learning and growth.
In June 2022, FCH gained its non-profit status to become an independent organization. A new Board of Directors was formed to guide the revitalization process in establishing goals, membership criteria, and increasing membership. FCH continues to support those in the catechetical ministry, both leaders and catechists, as well as publishers and institutes of higher learning.

Hosffman Ospino, PhD
Boston CollegeThe Church in the United States must have a space where religious educators and other pastoral leaders come together on a regular basis to reflect about how catechesis takes place in light of the Hispanic Catholic experience. FCH is without a doubt that space where ideas are shared, catechetical matters are critically engaged, and a fresher vision for the future of religious education in an increasingly Hispanic Church is forged.
