FCH Communication Officer Elections

This July we will have one open position for the Leadership board of FCH. This is the Communications officer previously held by newly elected president Miriam Hidalgo and now must be filled.  The Leadership Discernment Team is to solicit qualified applicants/nominations, vet the candidates and conduct the elections.  All nominations are due on July 20. A ballot will be emailed to contact no later than July 27 and will be due on July 29 5:00 pm ET.

We are seeking nominations for this position. Here is the description as outlined in our Structure and Guidelines:

  1. Communications officer
  • This person is the main link of communication between FCH membership and NCCL. This includes print communication such as mailings, press releases and other marketing materials. It also has a strong digital component using the orgwith its newsletter and all of FCH’s social media such as Facebook.com/fchcatechesis, Twitter @fchcatechesis and YouTube channel.
  • Coordinate the FCH Technology Subcommittee, including recruitment of members


  1. Communications Officer must be tech savvy. Expertise with social media: Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Some familiarity with website designing (word press). Comfortable with email. Most importantly, must be prompt with FCH online presence.
  2. Communications Officer must be bilingual (fluent in Spanish & English) in order to proofread online material before it is published and/or translate online material whenever needed. All online content must be published in both

To be eligible for election the guidelines state that any member that is in good standing with the organization, meaning they have paid their dues to NCCL/FCH and attended the previous two consecutive meetings is eligible for election.
